The Need for Traceability

Last year’s First Mile Traceability Barometer Report revealed a critical need for stronger traceability practices, particularly at the farm level. This year’s study aims to build on those insights and assess the industry’s progress towards EUDR compliance and similar goals. Here’s a link to our 2023 First Mile Traceability Barometer Webinar, where you can find these insights and more.

Our 2024 survey aims to address the interoperability issue between value chain stakeholders. We find it interesting, but we want to gauge industry readiness to find potential partners to collaborate around a common platform and solution. This would help avoid, for example, several cocoa traders mapping the same field. Interoperability topics and more will be discussed during this survey as we seek to engage an operationally excellent first-mile future.

Why This Matters

The EUDR, UK FRC, and the like disrupt agri-business by demanding deforestation-free sourcing. Companies that fail to comply risk hefty fines and reputational damage, but beyond regulations, robust traceability offers a wealth of benefits:

  • Sustainability: Traceability empowers you to source responsibly and contribute to deforestation-free practices.
  • Informed Decisions: Gain valuable insights into your supply chain, allowing for better decision-making.
  • Transparency: Build trust with consumers by demonstrating commitment to ethical sourcing.

What to Expect

The survey is designed to be quick and informative. By taking part, you’ll gain access to:

  • Benchmarking: Compare your practices against industry trends.
  • Actionable Insights: Identify areas for improvement within your supply chain.
  • Free Resources: Receive a downloadable report and exclusive access to a June 2024 webinar with expert insights.

Take advantage of this opportunity to shape the future of sustainable agriculture. By taking the survey, you’ll contribute to valuable industry data and ensure your business is ready to thrive in the face of upcoming regulations.
